Shopping Experience with Hermo.my

Lately, I have made a purchase with a friend for beauty products at Hermo.my
I placed my order on Friday
and requested it to be sent on a weekday via GDex

Quite timely, it did
It even has its own box
Pretty impressive
I like it

So from Hermo.my,
I bought Innisfree's green tea fresh essence and no-sebum mineral powder
where my other friend bought Nature Republic's Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Mist (which is not featured in the photo as I did not unwrap the bubble wrap from her order)

So after I received my order, I wrote a review about it on the beauty wall at Hermo.my's webpage
(Not the product review, as I haven't use them yet)
About the delivery and review regarding my purchase
And, I also uploaded a photo about the purchase on my Instagram account with the hashtag "#hermomy"

(shameless self promo =.=")

And thus, earning myself a total of 100 credits
(50 credits each for review on beauty wall and IG share)
The credits can be used during next purchase as item discounts, if I'm not mistaken
So, I definitely recommend Hermo.my
If you are up for 100% authentic beauty products, go for it
And, it has 100% free shipping if you buy more than 2 items in a purchase

Food Review #4 - Korean Instant Noodles

Lately, I have went to local grocery stores and found these:
Korean Instant Noodles
Since I bought an electric lunch box

So I thought: "hmmm..... why don't I try to cook these? It'll be fun to do taste tests."
and so, I bought 2 of them:

1. Udon Noodle with Soup Base (Kimchi Flavor)

So, inside the package there are:
udon noodles, kimchi sachet and the powdered udon soup flavoring

This is how the included kimchi block looks like:

And this is how it looks like after it is cooked:

A bowl of kimchi flavored udon
Since the kimchi block already has its on flavor,
so I only put about half a packet of the udon soup flavoring inside
Mainly is because I wanted to taste the Kimchi more than the udon soup
Actually I have never tasted udon before
I have to say, the noodles are a bit chewy,
but it is not starchy, thank God
The kimchi smell is really fragrant by the way
And the stock tastes like.... discount Kimchi soup
it tasted like kimchi, but not as strong as real kimchi
So, for this instant noodle,
I'll give it a 8/10.

2. Chacharoni (Chinese Soybean Paste Ramen)

Inside it there are:
the noodles, the paste, and the flakes (beans, fried onions)

It says to cook the noodles and the flakes first:

Then after it is cooked,
I separated the water from the noodles and flakes
and added the paste

and mixed them in
until I got this:

Well it doesn't look very appetizing....
I shouldn't put the whole packet of paste in
Because it's a little too salty for me
I figured maybe its because I cook the flakes along with the noodle
So it made the noodles smell nice
For it's taste.....
I can't say I like it, but I don't dislike it as well
it's my own fault for putting too much paste
For this one, I'll give it a.... 6.5/10
Maybe if the paste isn't so thick, I would like it better
Well, I wasn't a big fan of pastes to begin with...

Ok, that's all for today
Please leave me any suggestions on some other food that is nice
I'll try to find them and try taste testing them
Thanks again

Beauty Product Review #1 - Laneige White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser

A while ago I mentioned that I bought Laneige White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser
So now, I am going to put it to the test
by using on sensitive + oily + acne prone skin like mine

Before doing anything, we must do a little research first
So here goes....

LANEIGE White Plus Renew Line

Do you enjoy the flawlessly bright and radiant skin of a kid?
Kids have astonishingly clear skin because of the skin's melanin self-decomposing capacity.
However, this capacity is decreased as you age and your skin becomes dull.
Laneige White Plus Renew's new product uses the innovative MELACRUSHER technology to inhibit melanin synthesis, block bridge, and restore the melanin self-decomposing capacity.
MELACRUSHER decomposes melanin debris in your skin and clarifies the melanin factory to leave your skin flawlessly radiant.
Experience the new generation whitening with Laneige White Plus Renew.

Innovative MELACRUSHER Whitening Technology
YEAST EXTRACT, originated from mushroom, is a new-concept autophagic whitening technology that restores the melanin self-decomposing capacity of your skin for flawlessly bright skin.

Green Tea Whitening
Green tea, which is Asia's leading whitening ingredient, is mild on skin yet powerful for whitening and considered the treasure of the world.
Laneige White Plus Renew uses green tea for whitening to inhibit melanin generation and block Melanin Bridge.

4-Free and Moist Texture for 365 days
This whitening formula is free of 4-free ingredients and is mild on your skin.
Also, it s rich in the moisturizers of green tea ingredients and safe to use on your skin.

So now, I'm using only the Laneige White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser
So here's a quick view of it:

Laneige White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser

Brightening, bubble cleanser that offers rich lather for deep-pore cleansing
  • The rich lather gently and perfectly removes all the dirt and makeup residues from the pores. The skin friendly amino acids work perfectly even on sensitive skin
  • Salicylic acid gently exfoliates the skin keeping it pure and radiant at all times.

Directions:
Pump once of twice into palm and gently massage the face with lather. Then, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Seems promising, right?

So, I tried using it
Before I use it, my face has a mild yellow hue
After few days of using it, my face started to have some sort of white radiance,
The yellow hue is not as visible as before.

PS: in  case you are wondering, the product pumps a very smooth foam out, one pump worked for me as it is already very rich in lather. And it smells really really good. Like a mild perfume smell

I must say....
that is incredible....

I will continue to use it and...
we'll see how it goes....
I'll keep you updated next time

Shopping Experience with Althea.kr

I recently discovered an online cosmetics store
similar to Hermo.com
--- Althea.kr

So,
Innisfree have this really popular green tea seed serum that everyone is talking about
It is said to have special moisturizing and nourishing care
So, I have decided to buy one to try for myself
Hence, I also decided to try buying from Althea.kr which I have recently discovered.

Say you want to buy beauty products from Korea
but you are worried that it is fake/ not authentic
Well,
For people who are very aware of the products authenticity like me
Althea.kr is definitely your first choice if you want to buy beauty products from Korea

Why?
Because apparently, Althea has promising policies
but the one that caught my attention the most is the 100% authentic policy

And since I'm aiming for Korea brands
Buying from Korea is like.... an added security...
So, definitely worth trying

Anyway, back to topic
So I placed my order on 25 March, but it came on 30 March
That is like.... a day early than their minimum 7 days shipping
And definitely faster than their "takes around 10-15 days to reach your doorstep"

And this is what I got:

Althea has its own beauty box
which is a specially designed box of the company to put our orders in
find out about the beauty box more here >> http://my.althea.kr/beauty-box

So, as you can see here
my orders are packed pretty nicely.
And please note that I ONLY ordered the Innisfree green tea seed serum
See how much free gifts I got?
That is another reason why I like buying things from Korea beauty product brands
-- they are very generous with their free samples

By the way, because I participated in the Mystery Egg Hunt Event from Althea.kr
So, I have 2 free coupon codes for my next purchase
which are worth RM45 in total
(I hidden the coupon codes because I haven't use them yet... XD)

For my first purchase,
I can say that I am very impressed and satisfied
PS: I have also emailed them for some enquiries and they replied fast
So, for their service, I'll give them a 10/10.

And since the items are sent from Korea,
so, there will be an international shipping fee charged
UNLESS, you made a purchase of RM150 or above,
then there will be free shipping
PS: they use Skynet to deliver my orders, in case you are wondering

I'll share something more with you guys:
Here is a referral code to sign up with Althea.kr
And here is a coupon code:
>> ALTHEA-8198-EQCZH-ZPZM

Upon signing up using the link above,
your account will receive the standard RM15 sign up credit automatically credited into your account
and additional RM5 credit using the reward code
during check out to make your first purchase.
So that is a total of RM20 off.
Worth a shot.

Food Review #3 - Quakers Instant Cup Oats #2

Hello again.
So today I'm continuing my instant cup oats review
So, last time I left the maple & brown sugar and the apple & cranberries flavored ones untested
See the other instant cup oat review here >> http://blackcatning.blogspot.my/2016/03/food-review-2-quakers-instant-cup-oats.html
Today, I'm gonna continue the taste tests

Ok, so here's the apple and cranberries one.

The top view:

Front view:

Back view:

Here's how it looks like before I add water to it:

After adding water and waited for around 2 mins or so:

Taste thoughts:
As you can see here,
there are real apple and cranberry bits.
The apples are all soggy after soaked in the water,
but the cranberries tastes good
There are also some.... cinnamon apple taste to it.
It tasted more mild than the other 2 flavors.
Mostly I'm just eating the apples and the cranberries bite after bite
As there are quite many bits in this cup...
Anyways, compared with the other 2 flavors
I like this one the best
So I'm giving it a 9/10 rating

And now, for the maple & brown sugar one:
Except for the ingredients list,
the back view is pretty much the same thing as the other two flavors

The insides look pretty much the same

After I added water and waited 2 mins,
this is what happened:

Taste Thoughts:
I'm pretty sure I added water til the line there....
since it is impossible to screw up such a simple instruction....
Not sure what happened and why is it so watery.....
But anyways,
it tastes sweet. Very sweet I must say...
I can really taste the maple syrup.
It's very accurate.
However, for this one,
basically you're just eating plain oats with maple and brown sugar flavoring.
I like something I can chew on when I eat oats
So.... it's a bit of a downer for me....
Therefore, I give it a 6/10.

Well, that concludes the Quakers instant cup oats review.
So, if there are any other food you think I should try
Leave a suggestion in the comments down below
Thanks :)

Expo Sayangi Food & Beverage Malaysia Haul

Today, I went to a food expo in Danga City Mall, Johor Bahru with a couple friends
after I saw them promoting on Facebook
I asked a few friends to accompany me there

For more deatils:
ESFB-Expo Sayangi Food & Beverage Malaysia promo(1)
ESFB-Expo Sayangi Food & Beverage Malaysia promo(2)

It's not a big expo, but there is quite a lot of food there.
Though I must say I only went for the Japanese and Korean snacks.
Anyways, I saw a few stuff that makes me "oh I want that!" here and there.

Like this:

green tea milk spread
like Nutella.... only green tea flavored
Mind. Blown.

and this:

and these:

But in the end, I manage to keep my cool
And bought "a few" things:

My haul from the food fair~ XD

Pocky & Pretz (5 for RM10, can choose flavor)

Sweet ones:

Strawberry flavor Pocky

Green Tea flavor Pocky

Savory ones:

Pizza flavor Pretz
I dunno how to describe this....
Pizza flavor..... the most common one....
with the pepperoni and tomato I think

Thai Hot Chili flavor Pretz
U can actually taste the Thai chili flavor

Tom yum flavor Pretz
Tastes very accurate
Like real tom yum (without the soup)
All spicy and sour

Yopokki (1 for RM13)
Spicy & Cheese (with a little tinge of spiciness) flavor

Green tea caramel Candy from Lotte (1 for RM8)

And last but not least:

The Emgrain oat drink(?)
It's RM50 for 500g pack
with a shaker as free gift

This is like a nutrition jam-packed drink
It has beetroot ( so it is pink :) ) and seaweed collagen,

It has a variety of vitamins
Helps lower blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar
Helps boost metabolism & circulation
Reduces risk of cardiovascular diseases
Good for girls especially during menstruation (rejuvenate & radiant)

I tasted the free samples of similar drinks in the food fair
And this is the best tasted pink drink I had
So after debating for half an hour.
I bought one.

That's all I bought.
It's not much.
But I think I spent a lot for today.....
However, if there are other food fairs
I'm willing to go again
Seems fun. From what I experienced today.
Like they said: "If the first experience is good, you'll keep them coming"

Tomato rice

*Dun* *Dun* *Dun*
It's explore-and-get-creative day again
How? By cooking.

Today, I'll be cooking it with the electric lunch box I bought earlier
Coz it's the only cooking utensil I have at the moment
Here's where I bought mine >>> http://www.cutemonster.com.my/wwwcutemonstercommy/product-1363016.html

So, today's menu:
the oh-so-popular-in-Japan
--tomato rice

It's a simple dish, with only 2 ingredients: tomato and rice

So, I use "zhen zhu mi" or short grain rice to cook my version of tomato rice
Coz it's shape is similar to Japanese rice they use for sushi
and also because I like it's texture

So, basically I just follow the instructions on the packet to cook the rice, which is pretty simple:
  1. wash the rice ONCE (so i did, coz it's written in caps)
  2. measure 1.2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice (or accordingly to your personal preference)
  3. soak the rice for a minimum of 30 mins
  4. place the rice into cooker. leave to cook.
  5. switch off the rice cooker and leave the rice in the cooker for 15 mins. fluff gently then it is ready to serve.

This is what it looks like before I add the water to cook it.

And.....
The end result....
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

I have a confession to make:
I din mix it well enough. so u can see there are many tomato chunks here and there.
It's because I'm very hungry already.
I just can't wait.

PS: I added some salt to mix the rice with the tomato.
I don't know why I did it. I just did.
But they mixed well together. so my tomato rice doesn't taste plain.

So.... it tasted pretty good I must say.
Since I like to eat tomatoes very much.
I like that the rice were infused with the tomato's sweet and sour flavor
The salt somehow helps bring out the flavor even more.
But it would taste better if I had the patience to mix them all thoroughly.
Nevertheless, I will learn from my mistakes.
Next time, I will show u a better version of tomato rice.

Note-to-self:
Add some sesame oil when cooking the rice next time (for more fragrance)
**as suggested by my sister

If u have any ideas on how to make a better tomato rice
Please tell me how in the comments down below
Your help is very much appreciated
